Inspiration // Part Quatre

While doing some fiber art research, I stumbled upon three very talented fiber artists. First being Shane Waltener. His piece, Aunt Peggie Has Departed, combines handmade cobweb doilies to create a sense of uncanny nostalgia. http://www.shanewaltener.com/

Kaarina Kaikkenon is a Finnish artists who creates multiple public art installations all over the world. By using clothing (mainly shirts) in her work she creates a tense bridge between memories and the future while engaging her work with architecture. http://kaarinakaikkonen.com/

Last is Christina Meindertsma, who beautifully knitted hexagons with yarn she makes from sheep in Idaho. Each hexagon is the wool from a different sheep in the specific flock of organic Panama sheep. By making each hexagon unique, it represents the individuality of each sheep in the flock. http://www.christienmeindertsma.com/
